Zhu Zhu Pets: Featuring the Wild Bunch (also known as Zhu Zhu Pets 2: Featuring the Wild Bunch or simply Zhu Zhu Pets 2) is a video game for the Nintendo DS and the Wii. It is the first (and currently only) Zhu Zhu Pets game for Wii and is also the first Zhu Zhu Pets platformer (the Wii version).

Story[]

This section is still under construction. The plots may have missing parts, parts that did not happen, or out of order parts.

Wii[]

Before the title screen appears, the game introduces the Zhu Zhu Pets, what they do and how they like to have fun. Then the game introduces the Wild Bunch, a group of woodland troublemakers that were very mischievous.

After the player makes a profile, the first part of the story plays. The five main Zhu Zhu Pets, Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak, Num Nums Chunk and Patches receive a letter from the Wild Bunch stating that they have kidnapped the other Zhu Zhu Pets and want the five to participate in a game of tag around the Zhu-niverse in order to free them, the game then starts.

Once the player has finished the last level and completed the game, the last part of the story plays. The five hamsters free the other Zhu Zhu Pets while the Wild Bunch realize their mischievous ways, so they pledge to start being nice to the Zhu Zhu Pets.

DS[]

Unlike the Wii version, the story of this Zhu Zhu Pets game is stated after the player makes a profile. The player can play as one of five hamsters, Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak, Num Nums, Chunk and Patches. Once selected they will also have a bonus hamster to play with them, most usually Patches.

The story starts off explaining the Wild Bunch, a group of Zhu Zhu Pets that live in the wild. The Zhu Zhu Pet Yo-Yo goes on an adventure all by herself while the WIld Bunch use this to their advantage. You receive a letter from Yo-Yo that he is trying to find the lost treasure of Captain Zhu the 1st and welcomes you to join the search. The Wild Bunch also hear of this and try to take the treasure for themselves as well. The game then splits between two main objectives, taking care of the Zhu Zhu Pets and following the story.

Gameplay[]

DS[]

There are six areas to get through, a neighborhood, a forest treehouse, a tropical island, an amusement park, a mountain, and the treasure caves. To unlock an area, the player must complete the one before it. In each area, there are five stages with a Zhu Zhu Pet house in between. At the end of each area, the player will be forced to compete in a race with two members of the Wild Bunch for the next letter from Yo-Yo, which will unlock the next area. Each area is harder than the last, the easiest being the neighborhood and the hardest being the treasure caves. After completing the race a bonus, also racing, stage will appear.

The objective of each stage besides the last of each area is to find a key, then the goal. If arrived to the goal without a key it will be locked. On the top screen is a compass that points in the direction of the key. The levels are designed like mazes, so blindly following the compass will usually not work in harder areas. There are also other obstacles such as portals, barriers that need to be activated with a button, tunnels, and boxes that can only be smashed after eating vegetables.
